A taste of what’s to come in 2016

It’s a brand new year and the owner of Dorset’s go-to PR Agency, Darren Northeast PR, shares his enthusiasm for everything the next 12 months has install.

Following the excitement of the festive season, January can be a gloomy time of year. However, don’t let the ‘New Year Blues’ get you down! With so much already going on in and around Bournemouth and Poole, plus much more to look forward to, let’s start to get hungry for the year ahead…

Currently on everyone’s lips, is the recently opened Bournemouth Hilton Hotel. The renowned hotel chain has added a new touch of local luxury whilst boasting spectacular views across Bournemouth. Come the summer, we can also look forward to a brand new cinema and restaurant complex opening up nearby. The development will include 14 new restaurants, adding extra flavour to the town centre.

If you can’t wait until the summer for five-star-food, look no further than the new Rick Stein restaurant in Sandbanks. Since opening it has been wowing local residents and, having recently visited the restaurant myself, I can assure you it beats all expectations!

For those hungry for fantastic entertainment rather than food, there are some big names coming to the BIC in the next few months. These include the awe-inspiring Dynamo, who will be bringing a touch of magic to the town during February, plus everyone’s favourite girl band, Little Mix, will be performing in March. I’ll see you there on the front row!

The BIC will also be hosting the local areas biggest ever commemorations for Holocaust Memorial day. Communities from across Bournemouth and Poole will gather on the 31^st of January in remembrance of those who were killed or persecuted during the Holocaust and subsequent genocides. The event is always a humbling occasion and well worth attending.

Lastly, one of Bournemouth’s favourite hotels, the Highcliff Marriott Hotel is celebrating their landmark 15^th anniversary this year. Look out for their series of one-of-a-kind events which will be taking place over the year for visitors and locals to enjoy in celebration of their big birthday.
