At Darren Northeast PR we consistently strive to seek out and win awards on behalf of our clients. Always busy, this can sometimes lead to us forgetting to apply for them ourselves! Taking a look at all our recent achievements, in early 2016 we decided to apply for the Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA) DARE Awards. We are now delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted for the finals in two award categories, the Low Budget Campaign Award and The Small Consultancy of the Year Award!

The PRCA DARE Awards acknowledge and reward the very best PR and communications professionals in the UK. They are decided by a panel of industry experts in 5 regions and are highly respected in the PR community. The awards ceremony will be taking place on the 2nd of June 2016. With the whole DNPR team set to attend, we are looking forward to being pitted against the very best PR professionals from across the South West and Wales. – if not a little nervous too!

The first award category in which we have been shortlisted will recognise a specific campaign that has not only been delivered on a budget of less than £10,000 but also achieved excellent results. Our campaign which has made the finals was for our work with Simone Thomas, a local businesswomen and hair loss expert. We helped her reach a huge audience with national media coverage, including an appearance Channel 4’s ‘Bodyshockers.’ We also created some highly successful award applications which saw Simone Thomas become officially recognised as a multi-award winning entrepreneur.

The second award in which we have been shortlisted is the Small Consultancy of the Year category. This is open to any consultancy with up to 10 staff, whether multi-discipline or niche. In this, the judges have looked for specific evidence, including financial performance, staff and client retention, acquisition, innovation and the implementation of creative ideas.

“The campaign we delivered for Simone Thomas remains one of DNPR’s proudest achievements. Representing a perfect example of what we can do, it’s great to have this campaign recognised by a panel of respected industry experts. To be shortlisted for the Small Consultancy of the Year too is the icing on the cake.

As one of two companies in the finals for this category, it is already a fantastic achievement. I look forward to heading over to Bristol with the whole team for the awards ceremony. Wish us good luck and make sure you keep an eye on our social media for any special announcements on the 2nd of June!’’
